At First Providence Missionary Baptist Church, we're always excited to welcome new visitors. We hope you'll join us for a service, and we want to make your visit as comfortable and as spirit-filled as possible. Here's what you can expect when you come to our 11:00a.m. service.
Our church is located at 801 E Hill St., Long Beach, CA (on the corner of Hill & Olive). Our Pastor and Wife are there every Sunday to greet you with a warm and sincere smile. Our Ushers and members will be vigilant in welcoming you as you join us in our morning worship experience!
Please don't worry about what you'll wear to church, for we truly believe people should come to God as they are. Once you walk in the doors, you'll see that the congregation has all types of people in all kinds of dress. Our Pastor likes to welcome anyone who is willing to come and have spiritual fellowship while worshipping God. everyone has different needs and desires when it comes to attending our Church service. Don't let thoughts about what you will wear stop you from entering in God's Holy Sanctuary.
When you walk in, find one of our ushers and introduce yourself. They're usually stationed at the doors and they'll show you where everything is. Our ushers can also point you to the restrooms, sanctuary and fellowship area. If you have any questions about the service itself, the ushers are able to provide helpful answers.
Be sure to hang around after the service and converse. You'll have a chance to meet our pastor and many other people in the church. After the pandemic slowed down a few of our members begin to congregate after morning worship and developed a "parking lot fellowship." We talk, laugh, eat snacks, and take pictures while reflecting on the morning praise and worship including the word of God. We would love for you to join us in the parking lot to get to know you so you're a familiar face the next time you come.
